Thriva Acquires eCamp Messaging Services

Merges eCamp with existing CampRegister division

SEATTLE, WA –March 20, 2006 – This month, Seattle-based technology company Thriva acquired Connecticut-based eCamp Messaging Services and integrated the product into its popular camp division, CampRegister.  This acquisition gives Thriva the ability to offer the best and most complete camp technology to the camp community and become the one clear solution in camp software.

Although Thriva’s CampRegister and eCamp competed with some product features, each company had a unique core competency.  CampRegister is the leading provider of online registration technology and database management software while eCamp specialized in photo and emailing services for camp parents.  By merging these products, the camp community now has a single partner for powerful camp technology with the largest support team backing it up.  And because both companies were innovators in their respective industries, camp customers can now experience the best of both worlds.

This merger brings a much-needed and convenient all-in-one solution for camps.  “It just makes sense for one company to provide all of these services,” says Matt Ehrlichman, co-founder of CampRegister.  “The most significant advantage to working with one company is the availability of features not possible through working with multiple companies.  Partnering with a single company with one support team is just easier.  We listened to our clients’ suggestions which is why we brought these two companies together.”

The goal of bringing CampRegister and eCamp together is to get people excited about the possibilities of camp technology again, deliver the full-range of features, and build the best solution possible.  The camp community is still being underserved when it comes to technology either because they are using outdated technologies or because the company they work with does not provide the full range of services.

The buzz of this announcement in the camp community has been overwhelmingly positive.  Winshape Camp has been a customer of both CampRegister and eCamp since 2004.  Director Chris Lewis is particularly excited about this news.  “We began using both CampRegister and eCamp for our 2004 camping season. The response to both was excellent,” Chris explained. “We’re very excited that these two great companies are together. This will help make our camp parents’ experience, from registration to interaction through emails and photos, seamless, fun, and user-friendly.”

Employees of both Thriva’s CampRegister and eCamp will continue to work for the combined company.  Personal relationships are a key value for both CampRegister and eCamp maintaining those relationships is a top priority.  Offices will continue to operate on both the West and East Coasts to provide an even larger team dedicated to the success of customers.

CampRegister’s services include online registration, camp management software, communication tools, online credit card payments, online donations, staff applications, report building, website design, and more.  eCamp’s services include secure photo galleries for parents, one-way emails to camp, fax-back emails for parents, voice blast messages, online videos, newsletters, and alumni features.
