The Group Registration system allows for many features not found on a standard Registration Form. Some of the advantages to using a Group Registration form are:
These features allow Group Registration to be a powerful addition in many types of registrations. Here are some examples where Group Registration could be useful:
1. A corporate event where people will be signing themselves up but would need to be assigned as part of the same organization. 2. A group of people want to register together for the same program under a single account, and take one payment at the end of the process. 3. Many other applications.
Assignment Center w/ Group Registration
The Assignment Center is integral with the Group Registration system, as this is the area where Group Types and individual Group Assignments are managed. As people register online, the system will automatically assign them to groups, based on their choices during online registration. By viewing the Assignment center, you can see the listing of groups, and each group's members, as seen in the example below.
Password Protection
With Group Registration comes the ability to lock groups to passwords. During setup, you can lock existing or pre-created groups to passwords, allow new registrants to generate passwords for a group they create, or both. If Group Passwords are turned on, this means that the Groups (or you) have the control of who can register as a part of a certain group.
Even in registrant-generated groups, you have the ability to manage group passwords in the Assignment Center. You can also change the Primary/Backup Contact for these groups
Primary / Backup Contact
The Group Registration system allows for a "Primary" and "Backup" contact to be named for a group. You can see this status in the Assignment Center. This allows you to quickly know who to contact in the case of needing to get in touch with someone at the group you are working with. You can also update the Primary/Backup Contact in the Assignment Center.
