How Categories Work |

Categories allow you to group programs together. Once categories are created they can be used in Quick Filters and in the hierarchy of the registration process. They are also used for Reporting purposes.
Categories
Categories are considered the general type of the associated category options. For instance, categories could be: Type of Program, Age, Attendance Type, etc.
Category Options
Category Options are the individual items within a category--- They also affect how programs show up based on your selections during the search steps of the online Registration Form. For Example: If you have 2 search steps: Gender: Male/Female and Age: 10/11/12/13/14/15/16, programs can be assigned category options that only allow registration by certain age/genders.
If your program is for 14-16 year old boys, you would assign the Male category option and 14, 15, 16 Age category options. This way, if the registrant chose any combination that "qualifies" for your program, the program will display. In this situation, if the registrant chose Female or Age 13 and below, the program would NOT show up.
The below Diagram explains how Category Options are assigned to programs. A program can have some, none, or all Category Options assigned to it. As you can see in the example below, none of the category options represented by the yellow documents are assigned to the program.
