How Merge Behaviors function

Top  Previous  Next

There are 4 different Merge Behaviors available to set for your database fields: Newest, Newest Non-Blank, Cancel Merge If Different and Concatenate Values.

1.Newest: When this behavior is set, the system will keep only the most recently entered value for a database field, even if that answer is blank.
2.Newest Non-Blank: The default behavior when creating a new field, Newest Non-Blank keeps the most recently entered data, unless that field is blank.  If the most recently entered data is blank, the original value will be kept.
3.Cancel Merge If Different: If the values for a database field are different when this merge behavior is specified, the merge will be canceled.
4.Concatenate Values: This behavior will combine the values of the database fields being merged.  Concatenate can only be used successfully on Listbox and Checkbox database field questions.
